I recently started using a rather special “Linux.” It’s not that it’s a different operating system from the rest of Linux, but it comes preloaded with programs related to cybersecurity. However, there is one aspect I hadn’t considered, and it’s quite “curious.”

One of the features of Kali Linux is that it focuses on cybersecurity. For many people in the field, they are probably already accustomed to seeing this operating system, its icons… among other things. So Kali Linux includes a covert mode that simulates the Windows desktop through “Kali-undercover.”

If you type in the console:

kali-undercover

You will activate this curious cybersecurity system and give it a Windows appearance. If you use that command again, you’ll return to the default view.

Also, from the taskbar, you can search for “undercover,” and you can do exactly the same thing without having to enter the console.

It’s a funny feature, but I find it very useful for those who want to transition from Windows to Linux in a more familiar way.
